Principle 4 Teacher Tip Sheet: Retakes

If students demonstrate that they failed to master the material the first time (i.e. they fail the test or quiz), don’t let them off the hook.  Instead, require that they take some sort of corrective action to relearn the material and then retake the test.  In this way, you make it more likely that students master the material.
