how it works

Using Mindsteps’ materials and techniques, teachers in job-alike or grade-level teams come together two to four times per month to develop specific teaching competencies that ultimately lead to higher student achievement.  A teacher-facilitator uses the online videos and Facilitator Guides to lead group discussions and facilitate team meetings.

Getting started with our professional learning kits is easy:

  1. Examine student data and observe your teachers in action in the classroom.
  2. Based on your school improvement goals, select an instructional practice (and corresponding professional learning kit) that will best help you reach those goals.
  3. Organize teachers into professional learning teams and select facilitators.
  4. Work through the professional learning process.
  5. Monitor for results using our monitoring tools.
  6. Celebrate increased teacher effectiveness and improved student performance.
